Ink & Paper Soul Rating System

I read everything, but here are the genres I prefer and will seek out, out of habit:

Historical Fiction, YA Anything, Fantasy, Women's Fiction (I think chick lit is a derogatory designator), Literature, Dystopian, Romance, Comedy, Poetry, essays on social justice. 

A few of books I've loved, to get an idea of my taste profile: The Phantom Tollbooth, Firekeeper’s Daughter, Jane Eyre, Wuthering Heights, Big Magic, You Are a Badass, Crazy Rich Asians, When Will Jesus Bring the Pork Chops, Luckiest Girl Alive, How the Word Is Passed, Chinese Cinderella, The Song of the Lioness, Burn it Down, Discovery of Witches, Parable of the Sower, Outlander, The Most of Nora Ephron, The Night Circus, White Smoke, Handmaid’s Tale, The Family Game, Final Girls, The Dim Sum of All Things, White Fur, City of the Beasts, Edgar Allen Poe: The Complete Collection, The SWEEP Series, Like Water for Chocolate, Party of Two, James Baldwin anything. 

…that list is not exhuastive and caused me great angst…

I rate books on a 6 star scale. 

Here's What Those Star Ratings Mean:

6/6  ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - EVERYONE NEEDS TO READ THIS BOOK NOW. I loved it, its going in my forever collection. I will probably reread this book once a year because I enjoy disappearing between its pages. I'm online trying to see when it will be adapted into a movie or tv show. I want to option the rights to this book, can I hang out with the author? If I see someone reading this book on the street or in a cafe, I will stop everything to chat with them about it.  I will fight you if you if you disagree...just kidding...kinda. 

5/6 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - I loved this book!  Its just shy of perfect but totally enjoyed reading it and am in my book happy place. I probably have a book hangover. 

4/6 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - It was good, I may resell this book as I liked it a lot but won't feel the need to reread it or wax poetic about it. 

3/6⭐️⭐️⭐️ - Book was alright not bad, not great, and I don't hate it but meh. 

2/6⭐️⭐️- Ick I barely was able to finish or I hate read this. 

1/6 ⭐️- I hated it, it might have one or two merits. The cover art is cool...

0/6- I threw it out the window.
